US-Israel Relations Wed Apr 2, 2003 4:27 p.m. AIPAC meets - CSPAN covers it by Sophia Barkat Nancy Pelosi gave a speech at the AIPAC Meeting. She said that while Jewish Americans are divided on the US-Iraq war this does in no way mean she is anti-Israel. Apparently Muslim activists in Israel are terrorists, but occupying people's land is not terrorism. I sometimes wonder if people in America or Israel who feel victimized by Palestinian attacks ever ask themselves why the Hamas or Hizbollah hate them so much as to blow themselves up? A close examination of Bush's policy in Iraq will open your eyes. Aggression is aggression. Get out of occupied territories and start respecting people's right to live. I feel sorry for Israeli civilians living in fear and worse for the ignorant people in the world who are fine with US led or Israeli led aggression but don't like it when someone else does it. Plain stupid, if you ask me. by Ed Armas (opus444@hotmail.com) Re: Sophia's post - AIPAC Meets Saw the speech on C-Span. Both Hastard and Pelosi gave unbalanced, unannounced speeches in which the main theme was 'We Are With You-Israel Right or Wrong' and 'Ask and It Will Be Given Unto You'. The outright pandering was revolting. Given that the rest of the world identifies the resolution of the Israel-Palestinian problem as a top priority, these speeches were not helpful in the least. Me thinks that the tail is wagging the dog. Maybe Pat Buchanan has it right. by Sophia Barkat re: Sophia's post - AIPAC Meets I was just reading this link and found out that Nancy Pelosi, House Minority Leader (D), is a key opponent of the US-Iraq war. I can see why she appeared at the AIPAC conference to talk about US-Israel relations. http://www.portlandphoenix.com/archive/features/02/11/22/feat_war.html |
