Saluting a National Hero: Michael Moore by Larry S. Rolirad
Robert F. Kennedy said in his Day of Affirmation Speech (June 6, 1966), "It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance." To all those who search for hope, who yearn to embrace hope, and long to bring forth hope to others, do not despair. "We the people" do have the power. It is not only within our reach, but it is already in our grasp. We need only to open our eyes, our hearts, and our minds to experience it. Let us all together march against the evil tyranny that has infected our government. His brother, John F. Kennedy, also said, "The energy, the faith, the devotion which we bring to this endeavor will light our country and all who serve it...and the glow from that fire can truly light the world." Our country is facing its greatest threat since its creation more than two hundred years ago and that is the republican party. If we are not successful this coming November in throwing Republicans out of office I fear that our country, and our unique form of government, will soon die. It is up to us to prevent that from happening. This is not just an election. It is our country's future that is at stake. Remember folks: if Republicans had a valid position and could honestly justify it with the creative talent of a 'Michael Moore', they wouldn't need to kill people to express it. Michael Moore's docuementary, Fahrenheit 9/11 has been the number one selling documentary movie of all time, grossing $80 million in just four weeks (See Yahoo Movies, Box-office Hits). That is about 16 million people in the US. It's so popular it's playing in 2011 theaters, after opening in just 800. So much so, even the infamous Carlyle Group, named in the documentary as a major financier of the Bush empire and broker for the Saudi Royal and Bin Laden families, is also playing the movie in it's recently acquired Loews Cineplex sites (see link). The facts revealed in the documentary are astounding and why people are going again and again and telling their friends and family to do the same. Trailing George Bush Jr.'s campaign years from way before he was Governor of Texas, to the present day lies of the White House about the al Qaeda and Iraq, the documentary offers a complete journalistic look at what journalists fear to do. Here are some of those facts about the 2000 General Elections in the US, also listed at MichaelMoore.com:
None of these facts were revealed to us by the large media companies -- ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, and Moore gives us ssome indication about why not too. Nor did they mention why George Bush Jr. was always on vacation while in office prior to 911, or his connection to the Carlyle Group, the group Moore reveals as the financier of Bush's failed oil business, climb to power in the '90s as Texas Governor and finally US President. It's also the people who Bush was trying to save, seeing how his daddy, also Carlyle Group advisor, was a financial advisor to the Bin Ladens and the Saudi family. How could an American President be a financial advisor to the rulers of other nations and no one report this in the news? Finally Moore did and I'm glad he did. I went to see it twice. The second time I was able to get tickets because I went to the theater five hours early. During the show people applauded numerous times. At the end the movie EVERYONE in the theater stood up and gave it a standing ovation. The unanimous reaction from a diverse audience was like a giant spirit awakening. As I stood there applauding with four hundred other PATRIOTIC AMERICANS I felt hope for the first time since Bush STOLE THE ELECTION on December 12, 2000. The reaction from the audience showed me that people are starting to wake up from their political comas induced by clever unrelenting stream of propaganda from the Bush Regime during the past three years. Michael Moore, THANK YOU. You are a true patriot. You told the truth and the people responded. Now I know why Republicans feared your movie so much. They are terrified of the truth coming out. Republicans know that even if a small number of people know the truth, and earnestly work to spread the truth, that even the most evil of foes can be overcome.
