Is Bush Jr. trying to get
re-elected? Bush Quest for Re-election (by Cherrie Lynn Lipsett, cherrie9@intercorp.com) Bush is working hard on getting "reelected". I say get reelected with tongue in cheek, as the people have never elected him. He was selected by the Supreme Court. He lost not only the majority vote by a large margin but also and what really counts the electoral vote in Florida. The electoral vote in Florida, if the actual will of each voter was counted, went to Al Gore. Due to extreme voter fraud, bribery, coercion, and dirty tricks orchestrated by the w. Bush team and brother Jeb Bush, governor of Florida; there was a perception that w. Bush won the electoral vote. There would not have even been this perception that w. Bush had won the electoral vote if voters had not been purposely confused so they voted for a presidential party they had no intention of voting for. You want proof? Look to the exit polls. The exit polls showed that Al Gore won the electoral vote in Florida. In elections overseas in countries where voter fraud is rampant exit polls are used to insure that the votes will is followed. Ironically the U.S. is a major sponsor of this program. The type of voter fraud, deception, coercion and dirty tricks that the Bush team perpetuate upon the citizenry of this country costs lots of money. Pay offs. Bush is now paying back his major campaign donors to insure that they support him again. He plans to win reelection again not through the one man- one vote system this country has always had but to win the way he did the first time by voter fraud, deception, coercion and down right illegal activities. This time his team feels they have learned a lot from the first time around and will not have to end up in the Supreme Court in the end to make the decision. The Bush team has even succeeded in dismantling the exit polling system of your news organizations to insure that their voter fraud, deception, and coercion won’t have any witnesses to it. There is no more one vote- one man in this country in the selection of president for this country. If the people do not speak up and demand exit polling your "one-man one-vote for president" will be gone forever. Democracy is the hardest type of governing system to work. It only works if most of the people of the system realize they have a responsibility to the system to insure that it works. There are always those evil people who want to steal your democracy from you and there will always be those types of people. Only by constant vigilance and active involvement can you retain a democratic system of the people, for the people and by the people. Of Bush’s main contributors were major multi-billion dollar oil corporations. This group to ensure that what this major fraction of Bush supporters wanted they received put in Chenney as Vice-President. Bush is paying this major group of backer back by going to war to insure they get the oil in Iraq. Saddam Hussein has oil contracts with Russia and France not the major oil companies of the U.S. Don’t be mislead this is not oil for the U.S. to insure that we have an endless supply of oil at a reasonable price. This is oil for the multi-billion dollar oil corporations to sell to the highest bidder. Our military, our sons and daughters, are going to give their lives so these multi billion dollar oil corporations in the U.S. can make billions more in profits and control OPEC and by controlling OPEC keep the price of oil high. Oil, when the Arab nations controlled OPEC, was around 20 dollars a barrel. Now just see if it does not hover around 30 dollars a barrel. Now I ask who kept oil cheap for you? Was not it the Arab countries when they ran OPEC? Wait and see if I am not right. But of course all you can do is wait but please do watch also. Oil prices control to some extent the price you pay for everything you buy as it all has to be transported or made and this is fueled by oil or an alternative fuel and the price of oil going up will drive up the price of alternative fuels also. (Economics 101). If the price of production and transportation of a product goes up then the price of the product to the consumer will go up. We will see rampart inflation again with no increase in wages to the average man due to the bad job market. We will see the average man fall even further behind in having a living wage. Another big backer of the Bush team is the coalition of doctors, multi billion dollar drug companies and insurance companies. They are as I write working on getting their pay off for supporting the illegal presidency of Bush. The doctors and insurance companies are getting the federal legislature and state legislatures to put limits on what an individual can get when mutilated or killed by an incompetent doctor or denied costly treatment they are entitled to by their insurance company. And the drug companies are working on their pay back also. It is a little more complex and complicated to explain so I am not putting the details of it in this essay. This coalition has insured that they will be paid back for their illegal contributions to the Bush campaign by being put in his cabinet and now the majority leader of the senate, Bill Friske, is a major shareholder in a multibillion dollar heath insurance company which Bill Clinton took to court for extreme fraud but the Bush administration finished this deal and let them off easy. So Bush is working hard at getting elected by the people who put him in office the first time not through the one vote-one man system. They proved you didn’t have to go this route the last time around. Why go that route this time when they can out raise the Democratic Party who has always represented the poor and middle class and can not raise as much money for fraud, coercion and dirty tricks. This way the Bush administration has a sure thing. WAKE UP PEOPLE! YOU HAVE NO MORE ONE VOTE ONE MAN IN YOUR PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS! WAKE UP PEOOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES YOU HAVE NO MORE GOVERNMENT OF THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE. When money was declared by the Supreme Court to be equal to freedom of speech you started down the slippery slope of losing your right to select your leaders. When each and every man of you did not stand up and be counted you confirmed the lost of your right to select your leader. Money equals freedom of speech. I always thought money was a possession of which some have a lot more than others. Money being equated as freedom of speech goes directly against your most precious freedom of one-man one-vote. Now the question is what are you going to do about it? Are you going to reclaim your right as stated in your constitution and bill of rights to elect your president or are the majority of you going to remain in apathy and watch this democracy go the wayside? By captmingus@ev1.net The charming quietpolyanna asks rhetorically? As the U.S. rolls into the beginning of the 21st century, it's seems to me that anyone who would consider the sacrifice and scrutiny of running for the most powerful office wouldn't even attempt to without considering it. In the last 50 years the only Presidents who completed one term or less were considered failures. If Al Gore had won in 2000, I'd guarantee you he'd be running already. As a disgruntled Libertarian, and no fan of Bush, let me say in all honesty 9/11 was a lose/lose situation for G.W. and the failing economy out of the starting gates didn't help matters. He has to run again, even if we remove Saddam. Presidents have little influence of the economic periods in which they serve. One does not need to have a PHD in economics to know that neither Clinton nor the Democrats had anything to do with the economic boom of the 90's any more that the bust Bush inherited. I predict Bush will run again, but like his father the war's outcome won't help his chances. by Sophia Barkat Earlier captmingus@ev1.net said, "Presidents have little influence of the economic periods in which they serve. " You raise a good point. Poor records never stopped Presidents from running for re-election. And you're Right. The economy isn't something the President can be completely blamed for. Business cycles exist. Clinton ran at a good time. Though there is something to be said for maintaining the Y2K economy - which was completely supported on good ffaaith of the business community. However, Bush did break all his election promises. And he broke all his post 9/11 promises about the budget. Whatever he had promised he has not delivered. That's what I mean by having a poor record. People are so excited about the War on Iraq issue - as they should be; it's a serious issue - that they may not see this when he runs. It's clear the US will be occupying Iraq for a long while. The stock market was up today, probably, because of this. And then there will be all the patriotism related to supporting the troops, as though people opposed to the war have something against the troops. This could help Bush some. But if it takes a War to save his sorry ass, then really, what has possibly got to offer the nation? If I had a lousy score card as does Bush when it comes to campaign promises I'd hide under my bed... The miracle of a democratic society such as the US is that there are really no riots and coups. No chance for system overhaul - people are stuck in a rut. It's been nasty for the last 3 years. I hate to think he might be back for 5 more. by gausscg@yahoo.com Re: captmingus@ev1.net Clinton and Bush and any other president all had pretty much the same goals - making the income divide larger and they have all been very successful. Just look at any chart of real wages over time. The only difference between the late Republican and democratic agendas is that the Democrats represent corporations who have more employees, so they are cautious about sudden rebellion. The Republicans interests are a bit more reckless. Abroad Democrats and Republicans do equal damage, the Democrats with more tact. At home Republicans can basically cripple the people really fast. For politically 9/11 may have been difficult to handle, but it supplied a wonderful opportunity for US expansion in the Middle East. by Trevor gausscg@yahoo.com wrote: "Abroad Democrats and Republicans do equal damage, the democrats with more tact." As an outsider, I guess I could agree with that. Presumably it is nicer to be screwed with tact than without it. I once read (in a Dutch opinion magazine) that the original difference between Democrats and Republicans was that the former believed human rights came from god -while the latter believed that they were created by man and had to be fought for to be defended. I guess that would make me a Republican! However, it seems that now the Republicans have found god! One wonders if there is a difference between the fundamentalism of Bush and the fundamentalism of bin Laden (if he was indeed responsible -which as yet seems unproven). In an interesting interview on Belgian television (some years ago) I heard Chomsky compare Reaganomics with Kensyian economics. Obviously, both cases involved heavy government spending -but Reaganomics spent the money via private companies instead of via public investment -and of course it were the political friends of the president who got the profits and not the general public. http://www.alltheweb.com/search?cat=web&cs=iso-8859-1&q=Reaganomics&_sb_lang=nl\+en http://www.alltheweb.com/search?cat=web&cs=iso-8859-1&q=%22Keynsian+economics%2\2&_sb_lang=nl+en If the outcome of the Civil War (and the death of Lincoln) were significant historical events -then so perhaps was the outbreak of W.W. II, which presumably encouraged a shift in the US from social "New Deal" politics to a more aggressive "Military-Industrial" economic system. http://www.alltheweb.com/search?cat=web&cs=iso-8859-1&q=%22New+Deal%22+%2B+Roos\evelt&_sb_ lang=nl+en http://www.alltheweb.com/search?cat=web&cs=iso-8859-1&q=%22Industrial+Military+\Complex%22+%2B+ Eisenhower&_sb_lang=nl+en On the other hand, when President, ex-General, Eisenhower seems to have initiated the nuclear defense policy as a way of limiting the power of the military-industrial complex. Life is apparently full of paradoxes. http://www.alltheweb.com/search?cat=web&cs=iso-8859-1&q=%22Nuclear%22+%2B+Eisen\hower&_sb_lang=nl+en "For politically 9/11 may have been difficult to handle, but it supplied a wonderful opportunity for US expansion in the middle-east." It does rather seem like that. One wonders...... by Sophia Barkat Re: gausscg@yahoo.com In the 90s Clinton allowed the US to practice corporate espionage on European Companies - Project Echelon. The US has been competing with Europe more than is discussed openly. An effort to take away European access to Middle East Oil, on which many countries in Europe other than Denmark & Sweden are heavily dependent on, makes the War on Iraq look like a War on Europe. I suspect Democrats want to appear as the party of the poor and impoverished in America - and hence cannot do things as openly as Republicans, who have no interest in representing the poor. Hence, Clinton, Bush and both parties in Congress are highly in favor of the "War on Iraq." Alienating minorities, who represent lower income groups in the USA, is political suicide. Democrats must appear as a party of the minority and hence they must appear TACTFUL, with Al Sharpton and such people in the forefront. I was watching the Democratic National Committee's Winter Meeting on C-SPAN and noticed that it was Howard Dean, Governor of Vermont, and not Sharpton who got the standing ovation from everyone, including the African Americans. Clearly the Democrats have no interest in recruiting the most popular African American politicians. Apart from him, there is Rev Jesse Jackson, who seems to stand up for the right issues but have you ever been to keep a straight face through one of his speeches? Are we supposed to assume that African Americans don't have some hot-blooded political candidate like Malcom X or Martin Luther King Jr. anymore? Clearly they are not encouraged to stand up. Republicans, on the other hand, have become the party of the white - be it from the modest church-going Midwest or the stinking rich. That party is either run by people who do not look at demographics and do not care about being a popular party, or they have latched on comfortably to the purse of the rich and do not see any problem in appearing as the party of the white. They do not see Senator John McKain's (R-AZ) "campaign finance reform" happening while they are running both houses of Congress and the Presidency. And judging from the people at the leadership of the Democratic Party, the status quo in Congress seems unthreatened. I don't think Bush cares about being re-elected. The War machine they had planned since 1990 is unfolding. Soon Iraq will become a protectorate of America. Every American benefits in the long run, and some more than others do if you run oil and defense companies. The opposition to War is bigger than ever and I hope they vote current Republicans out of office but I doubt they will be able to vote in a Democrat. The country is likely to associate Anti-War with Anti-Troops. I have met enough people who have not been able to make the distinction. Unless there is widespread reform in the Democratic Party - namely they lose Daschle, Gephardt, Edwards, Kerry and all the other jokers - there will be a new person in office but not a Democrat. Who knows? Maybe a Bush body-double?...LOL by Trevor Re: Sophia Barkat's previous post Sophia Barkat wrote: "In the 90s Clinton allowed the US to practice corporate espionage on European Companies - Project Echelon." Yes - the British are apparently involved too. Presumably, this is why Blair supports Bush so desperately. On the other hand, one must admit that the Europeans have been stupid to allow their own armaments industry to decline and to rely on American products. Sophia wrote: "The US has been competing with Europe more than is discussed openly. An effort to take away European access to Middle East Oil, on which many countries in Europe other than Denmark & Sweden are heavily dependent on, makes the War on Iraq look like a War on Europe." Yes, this point is now being more openly discussed in Europe. Some are claiming that the world needs a counter- balance for America. Blair is of course pushing that Europe needs America more as colleague than competitor. The position of the public in the "new" ex-communist countries may be rather complex (as I mentioned earlier regarding Poland). However, the issue is not so recent as one might imagine. Apparently Roosevelt was opposed to de Gaulle (and wanted a more compliant collaborator) - Churchill supported Roosevelt -and Britain probably paid the price later when its first application to join the European Union (Common Market in those days) was blocked by de Gaulle. Chirac is a "Gaulist" politician -so it seems that once again America has run into problems which have been created as a result of its own policies. http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/war/wwtwo/allies_at_war_1.shtml Of course, similar historical problems also underlie Turkey's problems with the US too. http://www.alltheweb.com/search?cat=web&cs=iso-8859-1&q=%22Turkey%22+%2B+%22US+\ intervention%22+%2B+%22Ottoman+Empire%22&_sb_lang=nl+en by Leslie H. Powers God's Grace and Peace. I don't know what Bush is trying, But whatever it is it is not working. If this War is about Oil then let us all take up a collection of our 'Trash' and send it to George W. Bush , It's been proven that 1 Ton of Trash can produce a barrel of oil in 20 short mtns, Hey!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just found a quick solution where no one gets hurt. (I mean that is the plan, isn't it?) So fellow Americans lets send all our Trash to Washington D.C to George W. Bush and all of his groupies. And hey! I even got a small speech to boot. "Mr. Honorable (not) George W. Bush, on behalf of my fellow Americans, it gives me great pleasure to present these tokens of our highest esteem. It's our duty as patriots to help the War cause by handing over our Trash thank you Mr., President. God bless. by Sophia Barkat It looks to me that Bush Inc. is cashing in. He has no interest about being re-elected, though he will run to maintain the illusion he is a dumb president. A $90 billion dollar wars Budget to free some Kurds? Sounds like bad economics, unless there are some hidden agendas....Wonder what those might be, now... Nah...poster boy of the Oil Industry is cashing in. by Leslie H Powers Earlier, Sophia Barkat had said, " $90 billion dollar War Budget to free some Kurds?" God's Grace and Peace. Well, those 'Kurds' you mentioned. I think the hidden agenda is ( this is theory <<< get it? LOL) Mr. Bush will hire them as 'Trash Collectors'. Remember, he's after all the Oil. by Trevor (tebatt@chello.nl) In response to Leslie H Powers previous message: Turning Iraqi Kurds into lemon curds is the real aim. Nothing less than a complete takeover and clean up of the entire Middle East - with total world domination as the intended outcome. Then the whole world can be enlisted to deal with the white Christian trash! Dumping on the world -that's the new global game. No longer US and THEM. Just US! by Larry Retzack Earlier captmingus@ev1.net said, "I predict Bush will run again, but like his father the war's outcome won't help his chances." You think George H.W. Bush lost his re-election bid because of his prosecution of the Gulf War? Actually, wars generally increase an incumbent's popularity and I think in Bush Sr.'s case, it did. I think he lost the election because he lied by saying something like: "Read my lips: no more taxes," and then raised taxes. Most American voters don't like presidents who lie, even those who do it with a perfectly straight face. Like Baller Bill claiming "I didn't have sex with that woman." And when they lie about taxes, the results are usually even more negative than lying about sex. by George Youngkins (george465@comcast.net) Leslie H. Powers had said, " I don't know what Bush is trying, but whatever it is it is not working. If this War is about Oil then let us all take up a collection of our 'Trash' and send it to George W. Bush." Your suggestion for sending our trash to Washington comes a bit late. We've already sent ours! The only trouble is it now occupies the White House and both chambers of Congress! by Trevor (tebatt@chello.nl) I rather suspect that Bush is following Sharon -and is probably intending to get the US so embroiled that going back will become almost impossible! As we have already seen -when politicians and media play on a nation's fears -then logic flies out the window. |
