Bush & God God, Man and George Bush by Duncan Reilly An article from the Daily Reckoning a FREE e-mail service of Agora Financial Publishing. http://www.dailyreckoning.com The Daily Reckoning PRESENTS: Searching for humility, Bill Bonner portends the downfall of the world's favorite money... http://groups.yahoo.com/group/QuietPolyJuryFury/message/629 by Trevor Batten Re: Duncan's post Obviously "born again" in more ways than one...... Even the BBC has noticed religious tendencies in the White House. In an item today somebody tried to paint Carter as a "new-testament" guy and Bush as an "Old Testament" guy -although another commentator reminded the audience that Carter had supported Saddam in the war against Iran, which was also a bit war-like. Bush's rhetoric (and his attack on Iraq) was also placed in the context of the apocalypse (now, one assumes) -in which Babylon is also supposed to play an important role in the final battle between good and evil which will lead to endless peace. However, it was pointed out that even anti-war reporter Fisk had called Saddam "evil" and that no other term was considered suitable. |
