Attack Lawmakers seek probe of Richard Perle by ERA edarmas@yahoo.com Finally, the possibility of a real investigation with legs in the Resident's inner circle. Since the article by Seymour Hirsch in the New Yorker, Richard Perle, architect of Gulf War II and senior advisor to the Pentagon, has come under media scrutiny for conflict of interest. All the double-dealing and blood for dollars motives are inherent in this rat. Please read the following and contact your legislators and Congressman Conyers. ACT NOW! Here's the forwarded message: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/QuietPolyJuryFury/ message/423 by Sophia Barkat re: ERA's post But all our legislators are for the War....And are on TV pushing for Illegal Wars. In fact, starting from housewives to troops (not drafted) the US is very delighted with a War for Oil. It's for American's to have a good life. And I suppose for people like me who live here but are not American. What else can be done if a nation consumes at the rate the US does? In Arizona, Senator John McKain is pro-War and that's pretty much the dying voice of conscience in the Republican Party, in my opinion, though I am beginning to wonder if he had ever planned on pushing for Campaign Finance Reform and if it was not just an empty promise politicians runs on. by Trevor Batten Re: Sophia's post Yes, I'm afraid that the world simply cannot afford to allow America to run the world much longer. Tonight, BBC domestic TV were running a programme claiming that oil reserves were expected to start running out around 2017. However, for many years experts have been saying the same and, until now, reserves have often increased through the discovery of new fields. On the other hand, presumably, the process of discovering new fields must eventually come to an end -especially as the technology for detection improves and remote areas can be surveyed by satellite. http://www.alltheweb.com/search?cat=web&cs=iso-8859-1&q=%22current+oil+reserves %22&_sb_lang=nl+en by Craig Johnson Re: Trevor's reply More importantly what will become of the middle eastern oil nations, they will really need the west then, and explain to me why we should help when the time comes???? Because everyone here knows in 40-50 years that oil will be gone!! by Trevor Re: Craig's reply Or perhaps the American government can explain why kicking shit out of each other should be the basic principle on which the world must be based. ...and please don't come with that silly story of an innocent America being attacked by aggressive lunatics. How much of Hollywood mythology is based on Rambo like figures taking justice into their own hands? In what way was September 11th any different? If one insists on continually kicking the world's arse -then one shouldn't be surprised if the arseholes kick back! If one insists on selling Rambo to the whole world -then one should not be surprised if people buy it and non-American Rambos want to kick arse too. Perhaps it is time to look for a more intelligent approach http://futurepositive.synearth.net/stories/storyReader$333 Apr 10, 2003 7:02 p.m. Rumsfeld says Iraq doesn't need much reconstruction by Sophia Barkat In a press conference today, Rumsfeld spoke about Iraq post-war rebuilding. He said, as he thought the Coalition was precise in it's bombing and hit "Saddam's military locations and palaces mostly" he does not see much need for reconstruction. Apparently, other damages were minimal. Richard Perle Again by Sophia Barkat Apparently, he gave Goldman Sachs Investors tips on how to profit from the Iraq War, in a seminar titled "Implications of an Imminent War: Iraq Now. North Korea Next?" http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20030507/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/ defense_consultant_6 The report states "Perle, who until March was chairman of the Defense Policy Board, a group of outside advisers to the Pentagon, also serves on the board of several defense contractors. The revelation raises concerns about conflicts of interest. " |
